Acceptance of Grass Stopped Temporarily at Compost Park
Beginning August 3, 2020, Manheim Township will temporarily stop accepting grass at the Compost Park. There is currently an overabundance of grass coming to the Park. We have reached a point in time where we can no longer accept grass without negatively impacting the rows of compost currently stored onsite. We will continue to monitor the breakdown of the compost to decide when we will be able to accept grass again at the Park. We appreciate your understanding.
The Compost Park's modified hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Last vehicle to enter the Park is 10 minutes before closing. The normal fees will apply. Fees listed below.
The Compost Park is Manheim Township’s central composting facility. The composting park accepts garden residues, shrubbery and tree pruning, sod, leaves and grass for composting. Wood mulch and leaf compost are available for purchase for use in yard landscapes and gardens.
